STRATEGIC PARTNER
EUROPE & MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA
Anna Klingmann is an architect, urbanist, researcher whose BRANDISM—an innovative approach to merging architecture and branding—anticipated current global trends. Through her extensive professional experience in New York, the Middle East, and China, academic research at internationally renowned institutions, and authorship of her book, Brandscapes: Architecture in the Experience Economy (MIT Press 2007/2010), Anna has developed a unique combination of branding, urban planning, landscape design, placemaking and architecture along with the ability to design compelling experiences for residential communities and complex mixed-use developments.
Anna embraces a holistic approach that regards architecture and city planning as allied fields operating along a range of scales. By integrating multiple scales and disciplines into a holistic approach, her work is aimed at developing nuanced expressions of urbanity that are tailored to the needs and means of specific regions and cultural contexts. Sustainability is understood here as a multidimensional and heterogeneous process, which integrates the fields of ecology, economics, sociology and culture in a dynamic cross-disciplinary palimpsest depending on each context.
She received her PhD. summa cum laude in branding and architecture from the University of Arts in Berlin. Anna Klingmann received her Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in New York withHonors and her Masters Degree in Urban Design from the Architectural Association in London.
